NEW! LiDAR Elevation Data  For Minnesota                                       

LiDAR ("Light Detection and Ranging") is an active remote    sensing technology that uses laser light to detect and measure surface features on the earth. LiDAR-derived high-resolution elevation data products are available for several areas of  Minnesota.

NEW! PLOTMASTER Available to Rent

The Benton SWCD office received a PLOTMASTER that was donated from the Rice Area Sportsmen's Club, the Benton Chapter of the Wild Turkey Federation, and the Benton/Mille Lacs Chapter of Pheasants Forever. The PLOTMASTER is the perfect tool for sportsmen, homeowners, land managers, gardeners, landscapers, and small acreage farmers.


Weed Wrench Available - RENT FREE
The Weed Wrench is a manually-operated, all-steel tool designed to remove woody plants by uprooting. The Benton SWCD has purchased a Weed Wrench with a 1.5" jaw capacity for removing woody plants such as buckthorn, willow, honeysuckle, and other trees or shrubs.

Benton SWCD Tree Program

Tree orders for the 2010 planting season have ended. Tree sales for the 2011 planting season will begin October/November 2010. Trees are available on a first come first serve basis, so place orders as soon as possible for the best selection.
