Benton SWCD Tour of Practices
The 2010 Benton SWCD Tour of
Practices focused on practices
that improve water quality. The
practices showcased included a
completed wetland enhancement,
native buffers along Little Rock
Lake, Ag BMP Test-Plot Program,
grass waterways, water sediment
control basin, feedlot projects,
and more.
As part of the 2010 Tour of
Practices, attendees were also
shown how the native buffer
along Little Rock Lake pond is
designed to help reduce the
erosion and runoff of sediment
and nutrients that enter the
lake. Tiffany Determan,

the benefits of installing
buffers along the shoreline.

Anniversary by participating in the

Benton SWCD began in 1948 to protect
and enhance Benton County's soil,
water, and other natural resources;
to nurture a conservation ethic by
educating county residents on
conservation and environmental
issues.
